The cause
The Rise Up Movement is a Ballito-based community organisation working across KwaZulu-Natal to raise awareness of gender-based violence, human trafficking and child abuse, and to help people build the skills to lift themselves out of poverty. They run school talks, community outreach days and skills-development training, working alongside SAPS in the iLembe District.
